The Democratic Party of Doña Ana County (DPDAC) announces
a Special Election to select:
The Chair of DPDAC and
two non-female members of the State Central Committee
(i.e. two male or one male and one gender-diverse).
To run for either position, you must have been a registered Democrat in
Doña Ana County for 30 days prior to the election.

The deadline to declare your candidacy is November 27, 2023 at 6:00 pm MT.
As per the call sent on November 8th, a virtual meeting of the CCC, including a candidate forum, will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 am.
Voters for this election are the DPDAC County Central Committee (CCC) members as of the date of the call for this special election.
Voting will take place by absentee ballot from December 6 – 11, 2023.

DUTIES OF ELECTED POSITIONS
The County Party Chair, as the chief executive of the County Party, does the following:
presides over all meetings of the County Central Committee and the County Executive Committee
participates in all other committees
has general management of all County Party affairs and county election campaigns.
has the power to appoint committees
is an automatic member of the State Central Committee (the SCC)
The members of the State Central Committee (SCC) — the “supreme governing body” of the DPNM — do the following:
elect the STATE PARTY Officers:
vote to adopt amendments to the DPNM Rules
vote to approve DPNM resolutions
nominate Democratic candidates to fill vacancies on the General Election ballot
The County Party Chair and State Central Committee (SCC) members are elected by the County Central Committee members.
