Samantha Madrid has has announced that she will be seeking election for Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Division I.
“My broad experiences have equipped me to look out for the rights of those that may not be aware of the often bewildering legal process” Madrid said in her announcement. “As your Magistrate Judge, I will focus on increasing the efficiency of the Court to better meet the needs of the general public. I will bring my vision and experience to an already strong team of Judges that currently serves Doña Ana County Magistrate Court, and work to build on the strong cooperation among the capable judges that now serve the people of our County.”
Madrid, a Democrat, is a native southern New Mexican who received her undergraduate and Law Degree from the University of New Mexico. She has experience in prosecution and defense. She has practiced in the Doña Ana DWI Drug Court Program.
Previous to her legal career she was a High School teacher in the inner-city. She worked with the poor and underprivileged and understands the fact that most of the people that appear in Magistrate are too poor to obtain counsel.
