The Honorable Joel Cano has announced his intent to run for a second four year term as a Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge in Division 6. The position covers all of Doña Ana County.
“The Doña Ana County Magistrate Court faces immense challenges that must be met with resolve, dedication to service and determination by those who serve as Judge. I believe I have met and exceeded those challenges in the past four years and will continue to do so in the coming term” Judge Cano said in his announcement.
“I look forward to having the opportunity to continue serving as magistrate judge of Doña Ana County in Division 6,” said Cano. “I consider it a privilege to serve as magistrate judge, and I appreciate the trust that the people of Doña Ana County and the surrounding area have placed in me and would much enjoy the privilege of serving for another four years”.

Judge Cano was first elected to office in the November 2010 general election. Judge Cano took the bench in January 2011 and has been serving with distinction over the last 3 years. Judge Joel Cano is age 56 and a Doña Ana County Democrat born in Old Mesilla and a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
